In recognition of the ongoing and increased uncertainty that COVID-19 is causing throughout Canada, the safety and well being of our employees, policyholders, broker networks, and vendor partners remains our highest priority. In an effort to evolve with the current situation, the senior leadership team continues to take steps consistent with the guidance from the World Health Organization and Public Health Agency of Canada.
In being good partners with you, and the communities in which we choose to do business and reside, we continue to take make precautionary decisions to reduce the risks associated with traveling to, and gathering in, an office environment that does not meet the standard of social distancing. Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance (SMI) is taking the following precautionary steps allowing us to maintain the critical operations you’ve grown to expect and create an overall safer business environment:
- Reduction in Travel – we are limiting travel for SMI colleagues indefinitely. We are committed to serving the needs of our stakeholders while maintaining safe environments, and we have therefore asked our employees to utilize our telecommunication and technology platforms to connect and serve you in a timely manner.
- Non-Essential Business Meetings & Guests – to deliver on the recommended practice of social distancing, we will be restricting access to our office buildings to all non-essential face-to-face business meetings and guests. Because we value our stakeholders, we will work to deliver the service you’ve come to expect through alternate communication channels.
As we continue to move forward and observe the impact of our new protocol, we’ll continue to communicate any future changes to service delivery from what you’ve been accustomed to in the past.
